View Performance by Ad and Traffic Source
You can see the performance of viewers who came through ads or external links by traffic source (UTM).
What is UTM?
UTM parameters are tags added to the end of a link address. They help you tell where a viewer who came through the link started from. If you add a different value for each place you distribute the link, such as ads, Instagram, or messages, you can view performance separately by channel.
| Parameter | Meaning | Example value |
|---|---|---|
utm_source | Where the viewer came from (traffic source) | instagram, kakao, newsletter |
utm_medium | How the viewer came (traffic type) | social, cpc, email |
utm_campaign | Which ad or campaign the viewer came from | autumn_sale |
utm_content | Which link or creative within the same ad or campaign | story_banner |

Shoplive records all four values attached to a broadcast link: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, and utm_content. It separates traffic sources based on utm_source and shows them in the Data Insights charts.
You don’t need to add all four. Add only the values you need. However, to check traffic sources in the Data Insights charts, we recommend including utm_source.
The broadcast link must include tracking parameters such as utm_source. Check the link setup with your development team and ad manager. For details, see Ad platform integration. Purchase conversion and revenue items are provided when purchase conversion tracking is integrated.
By campaign
Check the following charts in Data Insights in the campaign details.
- Viewing by traffic source: viewers (viewers who entered the broadcast player), new viewers (viewers watching the broadcast for the first time), page views (views by viewers who entered the broadcast player), watch time (cumulative time spent watching the broadcast)
- Viewer activity by traffic source: chats, Likes, clicks on product banner, banner, view benefits, coupon, notice and FAQ popups, and quiz/survey participation
- Products and revenue by traffic source: product list and product detail clicks, viewers who purchased, purchases, revenue
All campaigns together
On the Data Insights home screen, choose a traffic source with the UTM traffic source filter to see Purchase amount by UTM traffic source and Viewers by UTM traffic source. Traffic without a UTM value or that can’t be identified is shown as UTM not set, Unidentified or Other.
