Using AI-powered speech-to-text (STT) technology, the system automatically analyzes the audio in your video and generates highly accurate subtitles. You can modify the subtitles or edit specific segments of the video by adjusting individual subtitle words or subtitle groups.
What is a Subtitle Word?
A subtitle word is the basic unit that makes up individual words or short phrases within a subtitle group. Each subtitle word is displayed as a block, which you can select to edit, delete, or add new content.
What is a Subtitle Group?
A subtitle group is a unit of subtitles aligned with a specific time segment (timecode) of the video. Each group contains the full subtitle content displayed during that segment. You can edit, delete, or add subtitles at the group level.
Editing Subtitle Words
Modify Subtitle Content
Click the subtitle word block you want to edit. A cursor will appear within the block, allowing you to make changes. Once you’re done editing, click outside the block to automatically apply the changes.
Delete a Subtitle Word
To delete a subtitle word, click the block and press the trash icon, or place your cursor between blocks and press the Backspace key. Deleting a subtitle word will also remove the corresponding segment of the video.
Hide a Subtitle Word
You can hide a subtitle word without deleting the associated video segment. Click the subtitle word block and press the “Hide” button. Hidden blocks are shown in a deactivated state, making them easy to distinguish from visible subtitles.
Editing Subtitle Groups
Set Subtitle Group Character Limit
Use this feature to define the maximum number of characters allowed in a single subtitle group. When a video segment is edited, the AI automatically adds or removes subtitle word blocks to match the updated timing. It reorganizes the subtitle group while preserving the original meaning and keeping it within the specified character limit.
Line Breaks Within a Subtitle Group
To improve readability, you can insert line breaks within a subtitle group. To add a line break, click the desired subtitle word block and press Shift + Enter. Blocks with line breaks are visually marked for easy identification.
Merge Subtitle Groups
You can merge two separate subtitle groups into one. To do so, place the cursor at the beginning of the first word in the second group, then press the Backspace key. The previous subtitle group will merge into the current one.
Split a Subtitle Group
To split a subtitle group, place the cursor between two subtitle word blocks where you want the split to occur, then press the Enter key. All subtitle content after the split point will be moved into a new subtitle group.
